About

Robyn Chevalier Hall - The Original Adventure Captain

Robyn Hall Travel advisor

My first big trip was to New York City for New Year’s when I was 12. It was magical. I skated at Rockefeller Plaza, saw the fancy window displays on 5th Avenue, and soaked up all the Christmas lights. I ate strange new foods in fancy restaurants, took public transportation, and stayed up past my bed time!

My first trip outside the U.S. was to Bosnia in 2005 when I was 20 and it was transformative. I spent late nights in cafés, drinking coffee until 1 a.m., made new friends, and navigated cultural and language differences. I got to taste incredible food and experience how another culture lived.

My first time living outside the US was in London when I studied abroad for my fall semester in 2005. I went to the theatre, drank good beer in pubs, and experienced the changing seasons for the first time. I traveled on every school break, slept in stinky hostels, and figured out travel problems all on my own.

My first time buying a one-way ticket was when I moved to Zurich, Switzerland in 2018. I was 34, with a husband and a two-year-old, and it was exhilarating. I stayed in my first Berg Hut in the middle of a mountain in the middle of a storm. There were playgrounds, skiing, and river floating. I built a life in the center of Europe.

Now I call the Netherlands home, but my rhythms are much the same. My summers are spent in Italy, Greece, or France, biking at home, or hiking in the Alps. Winters were filled with scarfs, Christmas markets, Three Kings Bread, and skiing

That little 12-year-old girl has been chasing adventure ever since that first trip – from kayaking in Vieques Puerto Rico or working on a farm for 6 weeks in Italy. This isn’t just a job for me — it’s a passion and a way of life. I can’t wait to help you write your own adventure story!
